Mingjia Fang

Originally from the vibrant city of Jiangyin in Jiangsu, China, Mingjia recently graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Jiangsu University of Science and Technology in 2023. Driven by dedication and passion for research, Mingjia moved to Ithaca to join Professor Lynden Archer’s research group where he specializes in the innovative realms of silicon anodes for lithium-ion batteries and anodes for zinc-ion batteries, showcasing a solid commitment to advancing energy storage technologies
Beyond the lab, Mingjia is an enthusiast of a healthy lifestyle, finding balance and joy in fitness and skiing, activities that not only fuel physical vigor but also inspire creativity and persistence in scientific endeavors. This blend of rigorous academic training, cutting-edge research focus, and a passion for engaging in dynamic hobbies paints a picture of a well-rounded individual who brings both expertise and vitality to our research group.
Fun fact: Mingjia enjoys knowledge related to space exploration, astronautics, and rockets, with SpaceX being his favorite company.
